Guest House and fully licensed Pub in a lovely tropical Garden setting. The Gold Nugget Guesthouse is known for it's good service and hospitality. It was originally named after the famous Gold Nugget (Peacock Gold Nugget) weighing 179 ounces, found by prospector HW Peacock in 1912 at Kaapsche Hoop near Barberton. Barberton is well known for it's Gold Mining activities, as well as the ancient rock formations dating back billions of years, and of course the Barbeton Daisy which was discovered here in 1884 by Robert Jameson, after whom the Daisy was named 'Gerbera Jamesonii'.

To the west, the scenic Route 38 through the mountains will take you to the warm springs of Badplaas.
